The Regional District’s Community Wildfire Protection Plans began in 2004 to improve fire prevention in theĀ urban-forest interface. The purpose of the program is to assist communities in the development of plans that will assist them in improving forest fire prevention and protection. The program is funded by the Ministry of Forests and Range and administered by the Union of BC Municipalities.
The outcome of the planning stage of this program has been released by the regional district, and is now posted on the RDOS website at: http://www.rdos.bc.ca/index.php?id=530.
